Attorney Stephen H. Kennedy, Jr. is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia having graduated from E.C. Glass High School. Mr. Kennedy went on to achieve his Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, from Virginia Tech, and in 2007 he received his Juris Doctor from the Appalachian School of Law.
Mr. Kennedy is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is admitted to practice before all courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Kennedy is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia. He is a member of the Roanoke Bar Association and the Criminal Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association. He is a qualified Guardian ad litem for both children and adults, and he is a certified court appointed attorney for indigent criminal defendants. Mr. Kennedy is active in the community, participating in the Barrister Book Buddy program and the Rule of Law Project.
In addition to his legal training, Mr. Kennedy has significant business experience. A small business owner himself, he previously managed a medium-sized landscape design and maintenance firm. Before going back to law school, he was employed as a marketing representative for a major institutional food service company overseeing a multi-million dollar territory.
Mr. Kennedy resides in Salem, Virginia with his two children.
